UBC Prison Health Undergraduate Course

The Collaborating Centre for Prison Health and Education is actively seeking ways to develop and expand prison health interdisciplinary education at the University of British Columbia.

We offer a 3-credit 4th year undergraduate prison health course at UBC. SPPH 481C: Prison Health aims to educate students from a variety of disciplines to respond to current health issues within the Canadian correctional system.  Through readings, reflective writing, guest presentations and seminar-style class discussions, students will learn about the complexities of healthcare for people in prison and will gain understanding and skills in order to apply inter-disciplinary approaches to prison health care.
